About Us

The Northern Ireland Executive announced that annual charges for water and sewerage would not be introduced in 2007-08 and that they would establish a comprehensive review to be lead by an independent panel. [Include enclosed links to announcements on 11 and 14 June]. The Independent Water Review Panel (IWRP) is fully independent of Government and Northern Ireland Water Limited and it is serviced by an independent secretariat.

This review will have two strands. The first strand focuses on the fundamental issues of financing these essential services while the second will concentrate on the wider aspects of the management and governance arrangements for water and sewerage services

The outcome of the review should facilitate the Minister for Regional Development reporting back to the Executive as follows;

Strand 1: Final Report in Autumn 2007; and

Strand 2: Final report in December 2007, (interim report in Autumn 2007).
